Aaron Barrios, a first-year student in the Department of Physics, has been awarded a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program is among the nation’s most competitive awards in STEM fields, providing three years of support, including an annual stipend and a cost-of-education allowance.
Barrios is also a McDonnell Center Graduate Fellow, a program that supports outstanding incoming graduate students in physics and Earth, environmental, and planetary sciences with interests in the Center’s research areas.
The award recognizes Barrios’s achievements and potential for impactful contributions to physics research early in graduate study.
